2015 is almost over and that means it’s time to look ahead to 2016. For most companies this is the time to renew their underlying Proof of Origin for requesting Certificates of Origin, EUR.1 or EURMED certificates at the Chamber of Commerce.
Companies that issue export documents on a regular basis often choose to store their Proof of Origin at the Chamber of Commerce. Proof of origin is valid for 1 calendar year. This means renewal is needed per January 2016. It is also possible to hand over Proof of Origin each time you issue a request at the Chamber of Commerce. However, if you request export documents on a more regular basis it is wise to store your origin documentation at the Chamber of Commerce. This could lead to a significant saving of time per request.
