The EU Directive on batteries and accumulators (2006/66/EC) changed. This Directive contains provisions prohibiting the placing on the market of batteries and accumulators containing 0.0005 percent mercury, respectively 0.0002 weight percent cadmium and certain exemptions from these prohibitions.

Two exemptions are repealed.
